How do I know which caviar to buy?

La Maison Nordique offers several varieties of Caviar from different origins and species. Caviar tastings will highlight three main characteristics.

  • The grain size: small, medium or large.
  • The consistency: firm, smooth or balanced.
  • And finally, the taste: more or less iodized, with nut or hazelnut flavors.

How to serve caviar?

Caviar is best enjoyed chilled, often as an aperitif or as a starter. Simply serve it in its box on a bed of crushed ice.

For a tasting in the best conditions, we recommend that you serve it as is, accompanied by a few blinis and a chilled vodka. or brut champagne.

Cream is not necessary and lemon should be avoided because its acidity cancels out all the flavors of caviar.

How to use caviar in a recipe?

Caviar never cooks. Therefore, it is incorporated at the last moment in a recipe and often when dressing your plates. Caviar is a delicacy to accompany shellfish, tartars, white fish or eggs.


Are the products in the online store identical to those sold in the physical store of La Maison Nordique?

What are the delivery times for my order?

In general, delivery times are 24 to 48 hours. We therefore invite you to anticipate your orders so as to benefit from the best supplies from La Maison.

Some fresh products are prepared exclusively to order. An additional delivery time of your order is to be expected, in particular for:

  • Smoked fish

We make it a point of honor to offer quality service, the products mentioned above may lead to an additional 3 to 4 days on delivery. You will be informed by email if necessary.

How do I know the expiry date of my items?

The use-by date is indicated on all the packaging of our products. Upon receipt of the product, please refer to the indication on the packaging.


How do I know if my order has been taken into account?

Before payment, the summary of your order is displayed on the screen. You will find all the products chosen, the total amount of your order and the delivery information.

At the same time, you will also receive a confirmation email to the address indicated during your registration. It will contain the summary of your purchases, delivery information, as well as general sales conditions.

How is the delivery of the products?

We prepare your products upon receipt of your order.

Several delivery methods are available in Metropolitan France and in Monaco:

  • Delivery by Chronofresh

For deliveries by courier and Chronofresh, a tracking number will be sent to you by email and will allow you to track your order as soon as it leaves the La Maison warehouses.

Delivery times are between 24 and 48 hours (working days) from the registration of payment for the goods. To guarantee optimal freshness, La Maison Nordique packages your fresh products in isothermal packaging provided for this purpose and makes its deliveries via refrigerated trucks in order to guarantee compliance with the cold chain.

What happens if I am absent during the delivery of my products?

If you are absent during the delivery, a transit advice note will be left to you by the carrier.

You will be asked to contact him to arrange a new delivery. You will be billed for this service again.

For reasons of hygiene and food safety, the Chronofresh service only stores your products for a maximum of 48 hours. Thus, if you are absent, you can choose a second delivery for the next day. Without complaint from you, the package will then be destroyed. No refund will be possible.

How to exchange or return an item?

In accordance with the provisions of article 121-20 of the French Code of consumption, for dry products, with a long shelf life, you have, from the delivery, a period of 14 days to return the package in its original packaging, unopened, with the seals intact, for the purposes of exchange or refund.

In accordance with the provisions of article 121-21-8 of the Consumer Code, are excluded from the right of withdrawal, goods likely to deteriorate or expire quickly and those which have been unsealed by the consumer after delivery and which cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene or health protection.

Fresh products (requiring storage at controlled temperature and respect for the cold chain) are therefore neither returned nor exchanged. This provision concerns in particular all caviars, fish eggs, salmon, smoked fish and culinary preparations that you can order on the online store.


Do I have to create a customer account to order?
